“Remove Apps and configuration” Device Actions

Used to uninstall applications or remove a configuration item from a device. Intune can temporarily remove applications and configuration from a single device. When ready, you can initiate a Restore action to return the removed item to the device.

Remove app and configuration – The Problem

Tried to use it to remove application from Android device 

The application is not being removed from their Android device despite showing as removed in the portal.

Troubleshooting

After executing the action, the status is in progress

Checking from F12, action inprogress

Then the status changed to “Removed”

But from the device still the application exists and doesn’t remove even after check-in and waiting for 1 hour

The solution

The PlayStoreMode setting in device restriction profile is affecting this action and blocking app to be removed

After changing the policy to “Block” or “Not configured”, the app can be removed
